Lose Half a Marathon

Monday 27th August
Weight - 175.6lbs (A loss of 4.4 Pounds!! :-D)

Waist - 33 inches
Bust - 37 inches
Hips - 45.5 inches
Thighs - 22 inches
Arms -  11.75 inches

This is a total loss to date (during this challenge) of 6.7lbs 

Although this isn't the average of 1lb a week like I wanted - and I'm probably not going to make my goal of losing half a marathon in the next three weeks (I'd have to lose just over 2lbs a week each week from now on to make that goal) I'm glad that I'm at my lowest weight ever and I'm still keeping up with going to the gym and working out so fingers crossed I make it to as near to my target as possible!!

Monday 20th August
Weight - 180lbs (A loss of 3.4 Pounds!! :-D)

Waist - 33 inches
Bust - 37 inches
Hips - 45.5 inches
Thighs - 22 inches
Arms -  11.75 inches

Finally what seems like a decent bit of weight loss!! I'm going to do exactly what I did last week and hope that I can continue this success!
Once again the measurements aren't from this morning so I'm going to measure myself tonight and update once I'm done - to be honest though I've not been seeing that much change in my measurements - although I must be getting smaller because the scales say so.

Monday 13th August
Weight - 183.4lbs (A loss of 0.4 Pounds!! :-))
Waist - 33 inches
Bust - 37 inches
Hips - 45.5 inches
Thighs - 22 inches
Arms -  11.75 inches

I'm not happy that I didn't even lose a full pound this week but I'm taking a loss as a loss and I'm going to try and be better this week. I'm still heavier than when I started this weight loss challenge and that really depresses me!!

Monday 6th August
Weight - 183.8lbs (A gain of 2.8 Pounds!! :-)
Waist - 33 inches
Bust - 37 inches
Hips - 45.5 inches
Thighs - 22 inches

I was kind of expecting this - I was out for dinner with Paul for his birthday and I have marked his birthday as a time I can forget about the diet for one meal - but I'm still disappointed that I put that much on!! I'm now heavier than when I started this weight loss challenge and that really depresses me!!
As usual I haven't had a chance to measure myself this morning but I'll do that tonight and update this ASAP - I'm hoping that because I've gone down a dress size the tape measure will give me the good news that the scales can't!

Monday 30th July
Weight - 181lbs (A loss of 1 Pound!! :-)

Monday 23rd July
Weight - 182lbs (A loss of 2.3 Pounds!! :-( see my post on it here )
Waist - 33 inches

This week's mini challenge was to take pictures of our food and log it - I took pictures of all my meals but I've still got to put them on here!! Whoops!
To be honest my breakfasts and lunches are eaten at my desk at work and I take them to work in Tupperware containers and it doesn't look very photogenic!!
I also have the same thing everyday, porridge with a scoop of peanut butter for breakfast and chicken salad for lunch with some fruit afterwards.
I use my tub to weigh out my chicken (and it's my favourite part of my salad) so its always on the bottom because I weigh it out first and the last thing I put in my tub is always lettuce so my lunches don't look great but I haven't got bored of this lunch just yet so I'm happy.
Also my messy lunches make me happy because it means I've been prepared enough at home to have chopped up all my different salad components so all I have to do on an evening is throw a handful of each thing into my tub!! Quick and tasty is how I roll!!

Ha ha - incidentally I've just looked at my first weigh in for the Marathon Weight Loss Challenge and although I lost two pounds this week, overall I've only lost 0.2lbs!! Terrible!!
Let's just hope that this is a sign of things to come and I continue losing weight - I'd be happy with 1lb a week but obviously wouldn't turn down a larger loss!!

Monday 16th July
Weight - 184.2lbs (finally!! A loss of two Pounds!! :-( see my post on it here )
Waist - 33 inches

The measurements above are from last week - as usual I didn't have time to measure myself this morning (have I mentioned I start work at six am!!) So I'll measure myself tonight and update then.
This week's mini challenge was to look at negative thoughts and typically for me, last week was a pretty good week for state of mind!! I felt on top of the world for many reasons and so luckily didn't have to conquer any negativity but that's not to say that I don't have negative thoughts.
So I used this mini challenge to think about tactics to deal with those negative thoughts - these usually turn up on the weekend when I've over indulged because I was in the heat of the moment (a party or out for dinner or slept in and couldn't be bothered going for a run) and I need to realise when things are OK to splurge on and what isn't. Paul and I eat out quite a lot and I've realised that it's not the special occasion that it was when I was a kid and having a desert every time isn't possible so I have certain dates in my head where it is acceptable and when it's not. This then allows me to go out and have a good time without all the guilty thoughts that turn up afterwards.
I'm also trying to turn around thoughts that 'I'm not worthy' I'm still fat and I doubt I'll ever be 'skinny' not that I want to be mind you!! But when I went to the gym on Friday to check it out and collect my free pass the girl showing me around took it for granted that I knew what everything was, she even used the term 'the usual setup of machines' and asked me 'what do I usually use?'
This was a revelation to me - I must look comfortable in a gym now and although I'm overweight I don't look like a complete newbie!! In her head there was no doubt that I had been to the gym before! That felt great and certainly banishes the thoughts that 'I'm too fat to be in the gym!!'

Monday 9th July
Weight - 186.2lbs (a gain of two pounds - gutted :-( see my post on it here )
Waist - 33 inches
Bust - 37 inches
Hips - 45.5 inches
Thighs - 22 inches
Arms -  11.75 inches
The measurements above are current - I haven't changed in size for the last fortnight!! I'm not sure whether to be happy that those 2 pounds I've put on can't be fat because they aren't showing anywhere or be annoyed that they also can't be muscle because surely if I'd put on muscle I'd be smaller?!
I also failed this week's mini challenge of coming up with a week's worth of healthy under 200 calorie snacks
I made hummus and made a red pepper variation of it too which I suppose counts as a healthy snack if portioned correctly. However, I don't really snack to be honest read about it here.

Once again I didn't have time to measure myself this morning!! The measurements above are from last week so I'll measure myself tonight and update ASAP
I promised you a yummy recipe last week and if you go to this post - you'll find brief descriptions of a delicious lamb dish - not so much a recipe because there's not much 'cooking' involved but its still delicious all the same!!

Monday 25th June
Weight - 184.2lbs (a 1.9lb gain :-( see my post on it here )
Waist - 33 inches down 1 inch from last week
Bust - 37 inches down 1/2 inch from last week
Hips - 45.5 inches down 1 inch from last week
Thighs - 22 inches stayed the same
Arms -  11.75 inches down 1/4 inch from last week
So pleased with my measurements this week - it just shows that sometimes the scale doesn't show the full story - and lets face it I'd rather look small. I could weigh 100 tons for all I care if I looked like a size 8!!
I'm still disappointed with a gain but I'm hopeful and positive that I can turn things around for next week.
Next week will also include a yummy recipe so stay tuned.
